Prudence & Tilly

Today Mum found two little button doll kits in her sewing stash and said I could have them, so I set to work right away and started to make them. They were sooooo easy compared to Miss Millie and they were finished in no time here's how they turned out. Prudence is the one on the left and the other is Tilly.

Sweet Annie is now Miss Millie

Today I finished Sweet Annie but decided to change her name to Miss Millie. She didn't look one bit like an Annie with her cute little brown eyes, red nose and pink dress. I had never made a dolly before so there were a LOT of new things for me to learn but it was heaps of fun. Mum was there to help the whole time and I got her to paint on Millie's eyes 'cause I was to scared I would muck it up........ She turned out wonderful and I think she looked even better than the one on the front of the pattern!

Sweet Annie

I convinced Mum (aka Thimbelina) to buy me a Country Keepsakes "Sweet Annie" doll pattern a while ago from 'The Home Patch' when we were in Bathurst. Yesterday I got my act together and started making her and so far this is what I've got of a doll.......and I'm pretty proud of myself.

Easy Peasy Half Hour Dress

Today I finally got my act together and made a cute little summer dress. It was very simple to make because Thimbelina (a.k.a Mum) and I found some gorgeous already shirred fabric at 'Spotlight'. I pestered her heaps to get it for me. Sure enough she caved in and said "oh alright then I s'pose it very cute". When I got it home all I needed to do was sew down the back and give it a tiny little hem. Then we decided to sew two pieces of ribbon to the front to tie up and make it a halterneck, because when I bent over it would slip down and thats not good!

Distractions

I have been very, very slack with my stiching lately. I have at least had a good reason as I've had my head stuck in the 'Twilight' series since Christmas day and I'm lovin' it. They are sooooo good that I've already finnished the first two and I'm half way through the third. I can't wait to start the fourth 'Breaking Dawn'......... Stephenie Myer is an amazing writer.

How I would love to be able to write like that some day.
