Birthday swap

Chooky Blue recently started up a swap for a small group of girls around my age that like luv to sew and I was lucky enough to be a part of that group. We're doing a fat Quarter birthday swap and have just finished a journal cover swap the picture below is of the bithday gift I sent Miss Z. Her favourite colours are purple and yellow so when I saw that fabric I had to get it for her. I think it's absolutely gorgeous and will have to get some for myself.

Yr 5 HSIE project

In HSIE at the moment we are learning about rainforests and we had to do a project on an Aussie rainforest. I chose the Daintree and I was so happy with how it turned out I just had to share it with you. We got the project on monday last week and it's not due until the 22nd , I took mine in today! YAY me.
I have to say a big thanks to Mum for helping me with the planning........I love you.

Hope I get some more sewing done so I can put that on. Haven't had much time over the last little bit.
Ohhh and mum and I are going to the Craft Expo tomorrow. Can't wait... but I guess I'll have to it's only one more sleep.

Until next time

YAY!!!!!

Yay.........I finally got my quilt back from the quilters and It looks SO cute! I decided to use the left-over fabric from the jelly roll to make a patchwork bind. I have already machine stitched the bind on this morning and now all I have to do is hand stitch the bind in place on the back....that could take me a while!

Unfortunatly I didn't make them both the bottom one is mums and the top one is mine.

Buttons, buttons and more buttons

I love buttons they are gorgeous (especially when they are covered in your fave fabric). Just lately Mum and I have started covering buttons to make fridge magnets, earings and rings. Mum bought the equipment on Etsy and we got it in a couple of days. The day after our supplies arrived, Nic (the lady from Luv'n'hugs) and her daughter miss G came over for a visit. So miss G and I made heaps of things with the buttons. most of them are in the the photos but three or four aren't as I gave them to Miss G to take home and forgot to take pics of them.

Oh I almost forgot on the thirteenth and fourteenth of March Mum and I are going to the Craft Expo in Sydney........I can't wait.

Prudence & Tilly

Today Mum found two little button doll kits in her sewing stash and said I could have them, so I set to work right away and started to make them. They were sooooo easy compared to Miss Millie and they were finished in no time here's how they turned out. Prudence is the one on the left and the other is Tilly.

Sweet Annie is now Miss Millie

Today I finished Sweet Annie but decided to change her name to Miss Millie. She didn't look one bit like an Annie with her cute little brown eyes, red nose and pink dress. I had never made a dolly before so there were a LOT of new things for me to learn but it was heaps of fun. Mum was there to help the whole time and I got her to paint on Millie's eyes 'cause I was to scared I would muck it up........ She turned out wonderful and I think she looked even better than the one on the front of the pattern!

Sweet Annie

I convinced Mum (aka Thimbelina) to buy me a Country Keepsakes "Sweet Annie" doll pattern a while ago from 'The Home Patch' when we were in Bathurst. Yesterday I got my act together and started making her and so far this is what I've got of a doll.......and I'm pretty proud of myself.

What do you think?
